Japan Club at UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy

The Japan Club is a student-led organization at the UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy that provides a platform for sharing governmental, societal, and cultural knowledge through the lens of Japan. Grounded in public policy and global affairs, the club encourages students to engage with Japan as a rich case study for governance, social challenges, and international cooperation.

Throughout the academic year, the Japan Club hosts events and discussion-based sessions that allow students to share knowledge, experiences, and perspectives with one another. These activities foster cross-cultural understanding and create space for dialogue on Japan-related issues relevant to policy, development, and global leadership.

In addition, the Japan Club is planning a course combined with a Japan Trek, offering students a hands-on, experiential learning opportunity to explore contemporary societal issues in Japan. This program aims to bridge classroom learning with on-the-ground insights through field visits, discussions, and direct engagement with local communities and institutions in Japan.
